Women’s Ministry Themes (With 150+ Themes Download)

Women’s Ministry is beautiful, fun, but also a lot of work. One of my favorite parts of the “behind the scenes” ministry is the planning of special days, themes and ideas to go along with them. It’s like planning a birthday party for Jesus and all of HIS closest friends. You want it to be beautiful. Know it can go anyway as long as your heart is right and it is your best effort, ALL while still being greatly appreciated. God is so good!

So, along with planning a theme for a study or women’s events; can come preparations for decorations, ice breakers, games, door prizes and food. However, while those are all awesome things, let’s not forget the main reason for their existence. Titus 2

“But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 2that the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. 3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. 6Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. 7In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, 8sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. 9Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; 10not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 15These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.”

Growth, fellowship, and engaging conversations are all blessings among sweet sisters in the LORD. God has blessed us in America,not only with wonderful opportunities to encourage one another in our faith outside the walls of church, but also in ministries geared specifically toward women. The first step in planning a women’s ministry is to pick a date. Is this a once a month thing, or just a one day thing? Either way you need your first date. Then I pick a theme. Is there a special day or seasonal theme to go with the date picked. I love looking up national brownie day, ice cream day, or “important” dates that may enhance whatever we may be doing already. But if you have a subject or topic, and a theme, everything else can easily fall in place. So here a few ideas to get things rolling. Be sure to download the larger list of over 150 ideas.

In the meantime, I would like to intrigue your mind with 3 wonderful ideas that have endless opportunities for sweet ladies meetings or fellowships this year. Enjoy!

#1. Sweet on Jesus! OR How Sweet it is, to Be Loved By You!

~A lovely ladies meeting on the sweet words of God and how beautiful it is to be loved by HIM.

~ A buffet of lovely sweets and mouthwatering fruits.

~ A few flower arrangements for decor (doubling as great door prizes too.)

~ Games include 1. Blind folded flavors (guess the treat), 2. Name the flavoring or sweet smell. (Can be scents/smelling or pictures and naming.) 3.Bingo unique flowers (Find the names of the flower pictures.) 4. Minute to Win it cookie game.

~Craft/activity included a personally decorated flower pot and a simple personalized mason jar cake treat.

#2. Daughter of the King!

~ A Sweet princess themed with so many directions you could go- or my favorite, make it a 6 week study or 3 months in a row if you only meet monthly. Study what it really means to be a daughter of a our sweet Heavenly Father.

~ Food is flexible, which is great. From delicious appetizers to a fancy meal fit for a king. Or, just keep it simple and do some dainty delicious petite fours or cookies.

~ Small crowns, “fake” jewelry, little mirrors, pink princess section, and etc. There are so many ways to decorate.

~ Games include: 1. Princess Walk 2. Diamond drop (ice cubes) 3. Princess Word Find 4. Pin the Crown (like pin the tail but with a crown and princess picture.) And for the extra brave- 5. If you have a rowdy/active bunch, kiss the prince. (Lipsticked up & blind folded, spin and kiss the prince on the wall – a giant frog picture.)

~Craft/ Activities: Enchanted Mirror Craft, Decorated fancy slipper (high heel shoe) planter, Write to another princess (a missionary encouragement night OR it could be a princess in their life they want to bring closer to Christ or encourage.- Went with the enchanted mirror craft gift.)

#3. Sonshine In My Soul!

~ A Beautiful study about shining for Jesus because of the beautiful Son shining in our souls. This is a great theme for a one time event or as part of a series if you meet weekly. Flexibility makes this topic extra special because it could also be a series of the fruit of the Spirit resulting in the wrap up study- Sonshine in My Soul (like a recap event to invite new ladies in.)

~However you us this study, the food is just as flexible. We enjoyed fresh fruits and veggies w/ dips and yummy Fruit Slushies & Smoothies.

~ Anything bright, yellow or “Sunny” themed works beautifully. I loved decorating with fresh flowers (Sunflowers) and the dollar store “Welcome Sunshine” metal arts (and used them as a few door prizes as well.)

~ Games include: 1. a Bible race for the word “soul”, 2. Clothespin game, sunflower squares & bee game, 3.Sunny Bubbles Game, 4. Walking in Sunshine game

~Craft/ Activities- We did this after a gardening theme too, so we made Sugar scrubs (homemade) in a wide mouth shallow glass jar for cleaning up after a full day of sunshine outside & a “wild” bee house for the garden post.

Ministry can be so much fun! I truly hope you are enjoying the women’s ministry within your church. And, if you do not have a flowing women’s ministry right now, this is not to make you feel guilty in any way. Churches come in all sizes and shapes. Throughout the years, the LORD continually reminds me those are blessings, but not required. A church is first their services and worship unto God. If it is not the right season for you to add more commitment or for your church right now, it’s great to have ideas for when the time comes. Besides, women’s ministry was never designed to replace church, but be a ministry to reach others and grow outside of the church. To then strengthen the church.
