Upon the Table of Mine Heart, O LORD!
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
(Proverbs 4:23)
Heart.
A vital muscular organ of the body. A specialized cardiac muscle with four chambers, that pumps blood throughout the body 60 to 100 times a minute.
Embodied consciousness itself, holding key to our deepest desires and fulfillment. The heart is universal and non-denominational. It interlocks our personal feeling and emotions with physical choices and connections.
“But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
(Jeremiah 31:33)
Our hearts are vital, for obvious reasons, in the physical, mental and emotional status of our lives. Our heart is also a key component in our spiritual lives. “Just follow your heart” is a phrase heard by many Christians still today. Often in the guidance of a young person’s future. Ladies, let’s hold up a minute. That verse in our bible…
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)
When the 10 commandments were given, God knew we would not keep them. Having those commandments helped people to see their sin. Do we see our sin the way God does? When we see our sin for what it truly is, we know we need forgiveness of that sin and it brings us to a choice. We all have that free-will to choose what we will do once we see our sin as God does. To either be saved from our sins or continue without Christ, which by omission is a choice in itself.
“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:18)

Simply pray, repent and ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins. Ask HIM to come into your heart. It’s not about the words you say or the location in which you are praying. Just tell the Lord what’s on your heart and mind. Then tell someone! Seriously, let others rejoice WITH you, they will be so excited for you!!!
But, let’s get to the HEART of this. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
Our hearts are finicky, even among the most seasoned Christians. We are prone to let emotions dictate or drive us if we are not careful. Emotions are apart of who we are, but it is what we do because of our emotions that gets us into trouble. If you notice anger wasn’t the sin, God was warning us not to sin because we were angry.
“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:“
(Ephesians 4:26)
Ladies, we cannot rely on our emotions. If we are honest, they can really get us into a whole heap of issues. Our natural state would run off of our emotions for each particular day. Well, that could be one roller coaster ride, especially if you are ministering or helping other people. Dealing with people means we are dealing with their emotions too. Instead, God reminds us to rest on HIS word and trust it.
“Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.” (Jeremiah 17:14)
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.“
(Romans 12:2)
Ladies, what is our heart’s desire? What is Upon the Table of Mine Heart O LORD?
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8
What do we fill our hearts and minds with. Studying God’s Word helps me stay focused on the precious things of life. A gentle reminder that I want my day filled with God’s grace, mercy and love on display for my family. Thankfulness that I get the opportunity to serve, even if I may be tired or had little to no sleep the night prior.
As I pray in each new day, I often reminisce about my precious loved ones fast asleep in their beds. The weeks activities, a cute new craft we made together, a funny comment or a quirky happening. It brings extra joy to my heart. More thanks unto the Lord for giving me another day with them. Having raising my children in this such love brought me the deepest and most explainable comfort, peace and motivation to continue in the midst of our excruciating painful trials. Trusting, that was part of God’s comfort and healing.
Oh, how precious our time on Earth, truly is.
Can you possibly imagine knowing the amount of days and time on Earth which you have? Of course, none of us actually know, except God himself. Perhaps doctors have given you or one of your loved one a perceived date- due to health concerns; but truly, none of us know when we will take our last breath and leave this Earth. Just that we all will one day.
Imagine if you will for a moment, you did. What if you knew TODAY was your last day? What, how, or perhaps with whom; would you spend your time? Would it be different than what is currently on your schedule?
Perhaps you have regular commitments you would cancel. Maybe there is something you have always wanted to do, but have not had the opportunity to do it. Or, you love people and you want to hold them close or be with them in your little bit of precious time. You would want every second of the day to just be with the ones you cherish most.
How about now? Why do some wait for such drastic news to make life altering decisions. Balance, yes. In moderation we can live a joy filled life, be responsible, balanced, and have deep relationships with our loved ones AND Savior. Why wait? Ladies, let’s get into the game and make today count! Let us start writing the message of Love on our hearts and truly desire to be so in tune with God and HIS Word; it reflections beauty into every area of our lives.
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:5
What Will You Write? Will you be following your heart?

“Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.“
(Proverbs 7:3)
