There are many reasons to start a blog. It is not all pretty and wrapped neat. Honestly, it can be hours at a computer, editing, uploading, etc. Furthermore, if one is willing to put in the hours because they work for you, there are many benefits.

One reason to start a blog is to simply write. It is enjoyable to write family and friends and have a little window into your life. That is how I started. With many family and friends around the world, I just didn’t have a way to share joys, struggles and recipes with my close peeps.

Another reason to start a blog is to build your business. Some stay at home moms are so talented. In fact most are good at a lot of things, but do not have a way to generate income from their talents and skills. Blogging is one way to advertise your existing skills or trade. Displaying a new quilt and the process of making the beautiful artwork will indeed help it sell. More people can share and see your work.

How about starting a blog to be known as a published author? A simple blog that displays your writing work can open doors for working along or with other authors, bloggers, publishers, and etc. Your name is now out there, and it’s great practice!

Lastly, possibly the reason your here, is to make an income by starting a blog. Perhaps you want to find a way to stay home or generate a second income for a growing family. Whatever the reason, the possibilities with a blog are endless.

Yes, you can start a blog for free. The short answer is yes, you can start a blog for free, and you may need to. So be it, overall it is possible to generate some income from a free blog overtime. However, you do get what you pay for to some degree. There are other extremely low cost options if you so choose, and they can help you get of the ground and running right away. Not to mention many have basic support and monetizing options immediately.

The earnings are dependent overall on you. This varies on the hours you put in, your writing content, the quality of the content, your advertising, and so on. Yes, it is possible to generate a full time income from your blog!
