Gardens around the world are in full swing and in the midst of their season. Talking with gardeners, one common grown “vegetable” or botonical berry grown across the globe. Perhaps my thoughts are best summarized in a quote:
“Buy a neighbor lady fresh zucchini and she will be grateful. But, teach a neighbor lady to gardener and all the neighborhood will be grateful and eat zucchini!”
Along with its familiarity, are the vast culinary ideas for zucchini.
What is your favorite way to eat zucchini? As odd as it sounds, in all the years we have grown it, we tried raw within most recent years and LOVE it! It was always just taught and became”habit” to eat cucumbers raw and heat or cook the green and golden zucchini.
However you choose to eat zucchini, I hope this list of ideas blesses you with at least one new use AND enjoyment for zucchini.

- Fresh. (Optional~sprinkle with Salt.) Eat.
- Dice and add to your dishes and sauces. Whether it’s spaghetti sauce, hash browns, soups or stews; zucchini is a delicious addition. (Remember you can add fresh, dried, or even dry it and powder it for winter use and add it to your broths for just about any dish!)
- Sauteed. A great side, seasoned with garlic is our favorite way.
- Pan fry. Whether battered, seasoned or warmed with butter, it’s great!
- Grilled. So good!
- Baked. Slice in half, place on cookie sheet, season and bake- many options to take this further. Some down on the list a bit.
- Zucchini chips (dehydrate & season- ranch is a favorite here)
- Shakes. Sounds crazy, right? Actually my kids LOVE zucchini shakes. It is delicious! Look for my recipe soon!
