John 3:16

A famous verse you will find over and over again in America, one you are probably familiar with. So many sweet truths of God packed into this verse.

Picking apart this verse in the Bible would look something like this…

“For God so loved the world…”

All things were and are created by God. They were created for HIS purpose and plan. You are apart of that purpose and plan. He created you and I because He loves us and the rest of the world and has a purpose and plan for us.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave

Because of that love, HE gave something. There was a purpose and plan for His love, you and I, AND what He gave; ALL BECAUSE of this love!

” that he gave his only begotten Son,

The “something” that He gave was HIS son. He had one son, born of a virgin (Mary) and brought forth into this world for a purpose and plan. HIS only begotten Son (Jesus) was a gift to you and I. (And the rest of the world.)

“that whosoever”

“Whosoevers” of this world are everyone. Every person, not a select few, a specific group or race- but ALL people.

“that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,”

Your belief and mine come with a promise. Not perish is the terms our Bible states. So what does this mean?

“should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The remainder of this sentence (and verse) tells us. Everlasting life. (Eternity) Therefore we can conclude this common verse explains that our eternity (or everlasting life) is dependent on our belief in Him! But, does that mean all whom belief in His existence go to heaven?

If so, wouldn’t that mean Satan would go to heaven too; I mean he knows God exists- he tried to be equal with God, which is why the Bible states he was cast down in the first place. So, is there more? A beautiful example of why the entirety of the Bible matters and exists. It is not just one verse, boom, done kinda thing.

Believing is everlasting life. Simply believing HE exists is only a piece of the puzzle.

Do you believe all?

Do you believe He exists? John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Do you believe you are a sinner? Romans 3:3

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

Do you believe Jesus died for your sin? Romans 6:23 & 5:8

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Do you believe you can be saved from your sin through the blood of Jesus? 1 John 5:13

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

Do you believe if you ask Him for forgiveness of your sin, He WILL save you? Romans 10:9-10 & 10:13

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

As we think about these common verses, may we be reminded of how simple trusting in Jesus really is. Our faith, like little child, is acceptable to Christ. He longs for all His children and creation to be saved.

Hell was created for satan, many forget that or that truth is left out in teachings. God desired/s all to be saved and spend eternity with Him in heaven. Do you believe? Is heaven your home and eternal security? Will you and all your loved ones be there? Share this link common verse with a friend or loved one that would love to hear the truths packed within.

Have a beautiful weekend!
