Good Morning My Friend,
Envisioning thoughts of peaceful homes and meditating on scripture verses each day allows Isaiah 26:3 to ring loud and clear. As I sip on my fresh, steaming, hot coffee this early morning, I cannot help but ponder the elements of a peaceful home. Over the last few weeks I have been reading about “the heart”. It is a fascinating thing. Soaking up verses and examining the “whys” in the Bible intrigues me. But, then it also does people. Not in a weird way, but in a beautiful way.
As a people, a nation, as a community, as a home, as an individual; the heart influences everything. It really is our “spectacles” if you will. Through the lens of our hearts we perceive, decide, evaluate, regulate, and respond to life. Our heart will affect ourselves, our home, our community, our nation and our people as a whole. Each of us matters to this world.
So if our heart is pure, the vision is clear!
In keeping our heart, we need a right heart. Then we are to keep it. Pray for wisdom and protection to guard your heart.
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23
Then with a clear heart that is pure, our work and presence within our homes, communities, nations and as a people in whole; will be influenced by pure motives and true selfless love. How do we do that? Live in peace. Live a life that is close to Him.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon Thee:” Isaiah 26:3
Referring back to the original desire to study what God says about the heart, how can we help others restore their heart? Or, what about when our hearts are broken? Or, when you meet people that seem like they have all kinds of problems and no peace? To be 100% honest, we all know there are many issues in the world today. But they all stem from a life without peace. Whether we look at drug addictions, alcohol abuse, prison issues, divorce rates, homelessness and all the ailments of the world; when we pull back the curtain in each “issue”, we can honestly say there is not peace. Is it all for the same reason, no, of course not. But passionately caring about people, it there is “a fix”, I desire to find it and offer it.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,” Galatians 5:22
Honestly, through scripture, the best remedy is Christ. Like it or lump it, in many of these issues, it is God and only God that can do the healing! Truly seeing God with the right spectacles. Not a lying God, not a manipulative God, not an abusive unloving God. But, a sweet Heavenly Father that loves and adores you. Your King, your shield, your deliverer, Your God whom cherishes you! When you truly understand who God is “for real” and how much He loves you, it is then that you will desire to have Him in your heart, and allow HIM to lead your life down a different path. The word of God cleanses the heart. But, if you know HIM like myself, you know this from experience, not just a study. Isn’t God good?
“Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.” Psalm 16:9
May we remember this simple truth, especially on Easter week! The church does not “need” another cell group, another worship band, a new coffee center, a fancy manicured lawn, nor a new church program to make a difference. It needs the power of God. Church needs to be a Holy place again. Filled with people that are “real Christians” and desire to wholeheartedly love people like Christ. God’s Holy word preached. The world needs REAL CHRISTIANITY again. Obedient Christians. But above all, the world needs Christ! Your neighborhood needs you to tell them of Jesus. Some fresh baked cookies might be appreciated too. Start praying for all your neighbors to be saved. Ladies, may I encourage you to get a new face in church on Sunday?! Easter is a time people will come to the house of the Lord because it just seems right, that’s okay. Invite them girl! Whether they come or not, they need to see Christ in you! You are precious and the Lord desires to use you friend. Have a great week. May you find many blessings this week reminding you how loved you truly are by our Lord!
Happy Wednesday my friends!
