~Ladies, let’s be Virtuous Women OR Proverbs 31 Women in our modern day world. (KJV)~

A Virtuous Woman is a Hard Working Woman.

As we read previously about King Lemuel referencing his mother’s wisdom on describing the attributes of a good found in part 1 of our ladies bible study, let us continue into verse thirteen.

“She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.“
(Proverbs 31:13)

To seek means to “search” or to “diligently look for” as a means of action. If we were to label a woman or lady of such character we may say she is “industrious” or even “a purposeful, multitasking woman of hard work”. God’s way from the beginning of time has been hard working.

“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.“
(2 Thessalonians 3:10)

As children of God, as Virtuous Women seeking a Godly life that is pleasing to the Lord, or in striving to be a Proverbs 31 woman; we need to work hard and organize our tasks. In so doing, we will be of greater value and help to our husbands and able to offer the best service unto our Lord.

A Virtuous Woman is Organized.

Whether you are single or married, a virtuous woman seeking to please the Lord is organized. Ladies, when we are organized; we are prepared, able to stretch further and be used more by God. Whether or not you are an early riser, you have to agree; when we get up early and get busy with our day we accomplish so much more than the days we get up when we’re ready and pick a few daily chores off the list here and there.

“My days are busy. I rise early to spend that time with the Lord. (Praying & Reading) Diving into my day with my head and heart prepared creates a productive day! I did not grow up this way, nor taught to do such. I choose to live this way. If I can do it, so can you. The best motivation is to remember what it was like to not do this as the start of my day. I don’t want to go back! Ladies, find a rhythm that works for you. If you already have something working, try to improve it or get the most out of your time.” Pastor’s Wife

“She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.“
(Proverbs 31:15)

A Virtuous Woman is a Woman that Looks After Her Home and Loved Ones

“She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.”
(Proverbs 31:27)

Ladies, our organization gives direction in our lives and purpose for our possessions, time and relationships. How are we managing our homes? Are we being wise servants with the resources God has given us? Whether you are a one income household, or you and your spouse work, we can all manage the many areas of our life with a little thoughtful planning.

“She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.“
(Proverbs 31:24)

As virtuous women of God, we are valuable and an asset to our husbands because we go above and beyond just a few basic household chores. A virtuous woman is diligent with her time, money, possessions and resources. Are we really able to do this to the best of our ability without a plan? Ladies, let’s plan.

A Virtuous Woman is a Planner

As virtuous women living for the Lord, we need to make the most out of our time, money, possessions and resources. A plan is the best solution to accomplish this goal.

“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:16)

With a little bit of time investment we can formulate a plan for better efficiency and productivity within our homes and lives. Managing what is given to us is a command. Doing it to the best of our ability; however, is a choice. We can see an example of this ladies from our
King James Bible with the Parable of the Servants.

“For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.“
(Matthew 25:14-28)

Ladies, virtuous women, the difference here is what they did with what was given to them. If you are reading this, you are blessed more than another somewhere around the world. Because in reading this post, that means you have a device in which reads online sites and service to receive the internet. Which is the upper 51% of the world according to http://www.statista.com. How are you managing the different areas of your life God has entrusted you with? We can also witness, it really is at times a reflection of our hearts. Are we really thankful for the money, people, time and things God has given us? If we truly are, odds are you are already managing them in some aspect or another. Study, learn and plan new ways to refine those skills and do them more efficiently.

BUT, Ladies, my challenge to you today is this:

Let us manage every area of our life to the fullest for the Glory of God and to allow more time, money and resources for loving those of whom God has placed in our lives AND serving our AMAZING GOD!

“The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.“
(Titus 2:3-5)

I LOVE these verses, because I am reminded the importance of teaching and learning. It has amazed me over the last several years the number of women whom are looking for mentors. Our generations have missed teaching the next along the lines. Not a slight at all, but an encouragement that so many women truly have the desire to be Proverbs 31 women, or Virtuous Women for their husbands and children; but have never been taught how. Again my dear sisters, this is where we see our everyday calling again.

Let us help, encourage and teach other women these skills. Share your favorite recipes, tricks, tips, schedules, mishaps and triumphs! Ladies, many of you are so talented and amazing, share it so it lives on to the next generation in the church and amongst other amazing women of God.

Grab a planner, notebook, pen and hot tea and start jotting down a few goals for the month!

For now though, cultivate a schedule, a budget, meal plans, cleaning routines, etc. and share them with your family. If you have children, start with a simple task; unloading the dryer or placing clothes from washer to dryer. These are great life skills everyone needs to know, but with a little bit of time teaching your children, they can be apart of the team and helping regularly.

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might;” (Ecclesiastes 9:10a)

Ladies, let us take wiser steps to be more organized, more diligent with our time and cautious in looking after our household and family. Ask the Lord for help and guidance in this area if things seem overwhelming. Just start somewhere. As Virtuous Women loving and serving God, let us do so joyfully and willingly!

“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.“
(Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Maintaining a happy heart or joyful attitude throughout the entire day works best for everyone. “Many hands make light work” OR “Work smarter, not harder” are two phrases you hear often, but how true they are. Encourage your household ladies. Reward yourself or your family members as you complete your schedules, routines and cleaning very well. Make a game of it. Set a timer, and have a 10 minute tidy. (It works great between school subjects of breaks.) Ladies, be creative and let us lead in this area, and teach our children.

“A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.“
(Proverbs 15:13)

Virtuous Women, let us serve willingly, cheerfully and with anticipation for the new day! Ladies, let’s continue to beautifully bloom when God has planted us and into Virtuous Women; a Proverbs 31 women in this modern day world!
