10 Ways to Save Time in Your Daily Routine Each Day!
Each day seems to speed by faster and faster. What if you were told there was a way you could have more time? Not that 24 hours will extend to 25 or 30 for that matter. However, what if you could squeeze an extra 30 minutes minimum out of each day. That add us to 3.5 hours a week or 182.5 hours a year. That means by just doing a few things each day on purpose you would reserve just over a week in time. Amazing! Check them out…
10. Meal prep or Make ahead meals
9. Make ahead breakfasts that only need to be warmed or switch to a cold breakfast like yogurt, granola or fruit & oatmeal jars, etc.
8. Delegate jobs (even if it is just pulling clothes out of the dryer into the basket). If someone else can take on a simple 5 minute job while you accomplish a different job, it save you time.
7. Limit Distractions. Instead of running up and down the stairs in the morning getting ready, have stuff laid out, backpacks ready to go, coats and shoes by the door, lunches packed or quick reach in the fridge and pack, breakfast supplies already on the table, etc.
6. Prep for the week on Sundays. Clothes, meals, bath/shower schedule, errands, etc.
5. Say NO to something. Be sure to not overload your schedule, it’s okay to say no. It is better to do a handful of things at your best than to take on every task and be & look disorganized or worse yet, like you don’t care enough to invest real time into it.
4. Check inventory. Less trips to the store or gas station each week not only saves you money, but sometimes large chunks of your time.
3. Plan events, birthdays, gifts, and/or cards monthly. Get ahead on special dates and occasions.
2. Time yourself. As detailed as it is, when you are really trying to crunch your time, you’ll be surprised how much time you can shave off on your daily routine by simply racing the clock. How long to get ready in the morning, your record shower & bathroom routine, perhaps your dinner cleanup, etc. As specific as it seems, it does help you shave off a few minutes here and there. That will add up over your weekly routine, allowing more time for your loved ones or relaxation.
1. A journal. Either a detail of things that work or a simple outline of quick yearly routines can also shave time. Although I journal, it is not for this reason. I enjoy journalling and then I say keep info sheets. By that I mean a laminated 3 week menu rotations with the shopping list on the back, or a special notebook section of dinners that take less that 15 minutes of prep to through in the crockpot or instapot.
